I recently had the pleasure of attending the opening of "Foreign FLWRS," an exhibition by my talented friend Nashid Chroma, held at Riverdale Hub in Toronto this summer. Nashid, a fellow University of Waterloo alumnus, has been making waves in the art world with his digital pop art, blending floral motifs to explore the intersection of the iconic and the anonymous. His work delves into the human side of celebrity culture, capturing the tension between idolization and human emotions.

The exhibition, which ran from June 6 to July 13, 2024, showcased a collection that includes pieces influenced by Nashid’s background in architecture and psychology. At the opening reception on June 15, attendees could engage with the artist, enjoy snacks, and listen to an insightful artist talk.

It was a wonderful evening of art, connection, and reflection on the complexities of modern identity. If you missed it, I highly recommend checking out Nashid's work—you can always find his latest pieces and updates on social media or through the Riverdale Hub.

It was great to reconnect with Nashid and celebrate his continued success in his artistic journey!
