In this exhibition, I presented Organic Skin #1, a work that explores the interplay between digital manipulation and organic creation. Part of a larger series, the piece was created by collaging various digital images that combine photography, computer synthesis, and digital painting. The underlying concept was to create a tangible expression or emotion frozen in time.

The process involved photographing dried paint skins—“acrylic skins”—that form when paint is poured onto a surface. These skins are products of chance, influenced by both my hand gestures and the liquid properties of the paint. Once captured digitally, I manipulated the images using software, resulting in new, fluid organic shapes.

For the exhibition, these organic forms were displayed on a pedestal, emphasizing their physicality. They were set against a digitally painted background to highlight the blurred boundaries between handmade and mechanically created art. The juxtaposition of digital and physical media aimed to challenge the viewer’s perception of both, while using digital tools to emphasize the tactile nature of the acrylic forms.

This project was a meditation on the fusion of traditional and modern methods, inviting reflections on how digital media can enhance our appreciation of tangible art forms.

I also made a video on Instagram showing the process It took to make this artwork, if you want to see it you can check it out here.
