For this exhibition, I am presenting two bodies of work with different styles and composition qualities, however; they both aim to encourage the viewers to use their imagination to connect the artworks with real-life scenarios.

NEW ERA
This new body of work has been highly influenced by previous still-life painters such as; Juan Sanchez Cotan, Georges Braque, and Jonas Wood. Harley aims to mimic composition qualities from still-life masterpieces while using geometric shapes and solid bright colors to comment on our adaptation and acceptance of the digital world that we now live in. Harley attempts to illustrate a transition from a traditional still-life painting to a more digital and hard-edge modern look.
UNSPOKEN MAKEOVERS
This series of artworks focuses on places that have been transformed by humans representing them from an aerial point of view. By rejecting the idea of using a traditional or realistic style to represent a landscape, Harley uses abstraction as a medium to portray the site’s changes over time and the impact of humans on Earth. Harley seeks to push the boundaries of how we see landscape by encouraging the viewers to use their imagination to connect the paintings with the actual sites, while at the same time aiming to provide a narrative quality in each artwork.
Thank you everyone who was able to make it, your support is much appreciated!
