Last Thursday, June 20, I had the chance to participate in the 11th Annual Life as a Refugee 2019 event at the Four Points by Sheraton in London. Organized to raise awareness and dispel myths about refugees, the day was filled with insightful discussions, keynote speeches, and community activities. A huge thank you to my friend Steff Rojas for inviting me to contribute. For me, this event was a great opportunity to support the refugee community through art. I displayed some of my paintings and sold two pieces that now have new homes. (I’ll share photos of the buyers' artwork here below!)
The event’s theme of inclusion and understanding resonated deeply, and I’m grateful to have played a small part in fostering dialogue and connection. A special thanks to the organizers and all the participants who made this day a success.
