Just a few days ago, we had the annual Simple Reflections Art & Culture Showcase at Museum London. This event was held on Saturday, February 18, walking into the space, you immediately see the rich tapestry of sights and sounds that celebrated over 20 different cultures. This event was organized by Simple Reflections for Artists, a non-profit collective that removes barriers for local artists to showcase their talents. The exhibition included live painting, belly dancing, Mexican boleros, a saxophone duet, and an impressive 64-square-foot collective mosaic inspired by the Blackfriar Bridge.

Founded in 2019 by Dario Novoa, Simple Reflections for Artists has grown into an impactful platform for local artists. The collective is supported by venues such as Museum London, Covent Garden Market, and the London Music Hall of Fame, with each event being powered by volunteers and members of the collective as myself.

Dario Novoa, whose vision was inspired by his experiences growing up in rural El Salvador, emphasizes the importance of collaboration within diverse artistic communities.

Throughout the day, artists from diverse backgrounds displayed their work. One highlight was Diego Tamayo, whose digital art pieces vibrantly captured themes of identity and transformation. Nearby, Amsa Yaro's mixed media creations drew a steady crowd, sparking conversations about tradition and innovation.

In addition to the visual arts, live performances brought an electric energy to the space. Rising Moon Bellydancing captivated the audience with their fluid movements, embodying grace and strength. The Latin Power Band and Latin Passion Dance Academy got everyone dancing with infectious rhythms and moves.

Artists like Big Lou, Kristen Renée, and Brent Jones wow the crowd with their performances.
